ROB MANSELL
Post Production Editor

BIOGRAPHY

I am a skilled broadcast editor with extensive experience in craft cutting, technical finishing, and editorial program-making. Although my areas of expertise include entertainment, comedy, and factual programming, my broad experience spans a wide range of genres. Over the years, I have been employed by numerous major production companies and executives for most UK networks, working on a range of long— and short-form single-camera and multi-camera television productions, including documentaries, music, events, news, sports, and even cookery programming.
Driven by my enthusiasm for crafting compelling stories, meticulous editing, and proven editorial experience gained through years of working on a diverse range of complex projects, I excel in creative storytelling. I am skilled at crafting narratives, understanding that story and content are essential, regardless of genre. Everything else is tailored to the editorial style, which is based on the show's audience and format.
Whether working to a brief, under direction, or editing remotely, I proactively embrace the organic nature of program making and am committed to delivering excellence within designated timeframes.
I work well under pressure, can quickly interpret instructions, and work hard to ensure the audience is engaged, entertained, and captivated by the content I help create.
My exciting career began at the BBC, where I worked as a staff broadcast editor twice, once in London and again in Cardiff at BBC Wales. I later worked as an online editor for a Soho facility and have been a successful freelance editor for over twenty years, cutting anything funny, interesting, or challenging.
My sense of humor is not only an asset for editing comedy, non-scripted, or reality productions but is also helpful within any suite. I play the guitar, have a knack for cutting music, and appreciate most arts-related things, having begun my life as a performing arts student.
